Harnessing The USA Solar Energy Potential:
According to experts, the USA Solar Energy potential is massive. It is reported that
each hour the sun transmits more energy onto planet Earth than every human being on
the planet uses in a single whole year. Technology exists whereby the power of the sun
can be harnessed. This form of power would be enough to supply all the people of America.
Power from the sun is available in infinite amounts.

According to scientists, every square meter of Earth's surface that is exposed to sunlight
will receive roughly one kilowatt of energy as a result of this. This will depend on the
angle of the sunlight, the geographical location and the time of day. On average, this
translates to about one kilowatt per hour. Scientists claim that there is only about six
to seven hours of useful sun power. This is due the angle of the sunlight being too low in
the earlier and later parts of the day.

If the sun gives six hours of productive power each day during which each square meter receives
about six kilowatts of sun power on any given day. Scientists use the metric system to measure
things. Measurements can be converted to yards and feet for those that are not familiar with
the metric system.

One meter is about three and a quarter feet whereas it is three feet to a yard. Essentially this
translates to a square yard will receive eight hundred and thirty-three watts of sun power.
Taking the amount of hours into account this can be expanded to say that one square yard will
receive about five kilowatt-hours of energy per day.

This is the amount of kilowatt-hours per day that can be expected by people living in the Sunbelt
regions of America. An area of one hundred square yards would receive five hundred kilowatts per
day of this energy. That is assuming that it received direct sunlight all day. When homeowners in
this region look at their electricity bill, it is noticed that this is billed as usage in kilowatt
-hours for thirty days. When this is compared to what the earth receives for free, it becomes
evident that what is consumed in a home for thirty days, the sun is able to provide in no more
than two days.

Electricity and sun power are not the same. Technology is able to harness the USA Solar Energy
Potential by converting this energy into electricity. This is done with the assistance of what
are known as solar panels.
