These cells are typically thinner and are made of less costly materials, resulting in
lower costs with increased efficiency.

The A-si solar cells have multiple circuits in cells so that shade is not the issue
that it was in earlier panels. This allows the cells to panels to continue to operate,
even when a row of cells is shaded. On stationary land locations, shading can be easily
overcome by placement of the cells, but on moving objects, shade can be an issue.
Shaded cells reduce the efficiency of the entire unit. The new technology incorporated
into amorphous silicon panels helps to prevent breakage, especially during installation
or transport.

that will be needed. You may be able to reduce electrical energy usage significantly
