The solar power industry has seen many developments and one can expect

The solar panels are reliable source of electricity which can power up
applications in power plants and for residential and commercial purposes.
The flexible solar panels offer mobility and these are deployed to power
up small electronic appliances. A portable solar panel can supply
electric current to audio players, cell phones, computers, radios and
ipods. A person, who has installed a solar panel, can use this as an
additional source of power. He might also prefer to sell some extra
electricity to the utility. But even today, the use of solar power
has been limited to a narrow extent.

The solar power kits can be deployed to generate electricity for the
residence and to heat water. The efficiency of the installation would

commercial applications have seen the use of solar heaters and solar
coolers. The solar swimming pool covers are used to heat the pool water.

People also use the solar accessories to decorate their home and garden.
A solar fountain has a very simple technology in which a solar panel
supplies energy to a pump and it then works. But the fountain cannot
work in the absence of sunlight. In case of the outdoor solar lights,
the solar panel collects the heat energy and stores it in a battery
to supply power when needed. Outdoor solar lights are available in
any form- walkway lights, deck light, landscape light and post lights.

Development of solar cars and solar planes are in the research and
development phase at present. Solar energy gives power to a car’s
motor and charges the battery to keep the car moving when the sky
becomes cloudy. But at present, a car which runs 100 percent on
solar power has not been brought into existence. Solar panels
would supply all the energy to power up the solar planes which
would need no other fossil fuel. The plane named Solar Impulse,
which can be compared to an Airbus A380, can carry only one
passenger- the pilot himself!
